Public Webinar What is “gender” assistance for people affected by conflict? -In the case of Refugees in Uganda-
Uganda, East Africa, accepts many refugees fleeing conflict. Specifically, refugees from neighboring South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have been exposed to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Additionally, SGBV is recorded inside and outside of settlements even after the refugees’ arrival. Recently, the COVID-19 crisis has contributed to increasing such incidents.
Therefore, we will hold a public webinar to understand gender-focused assistance projects in the field and their challenges at 16:00 on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022. Presenters are Dr. Chigumi Kawaguchi, the Peace Winds Japan Uganda programme, and the Refugee Law Project from Uganda, Makerere University, conducting gender projects and research for refugees in Uganda. After the three presentations, we will hold a Q&A session. This webinar is open to anyone interested in this issue.
