【Afghanistan Returnee Support】Distribution of Essential Relief Items Conducted
Peace Winds, in collaboration with its local partner organization, provided essential relief items to a rapidly increasing number of returnees in Afghanistan.

In 2025, due to the Pakistan government’s “Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan” and new migration policies by the Iranian government, many Afghans were forced to return home, increasing the need for assistance across various regions in Afghanistan.
In response to this situation, Peace Winds conducted a field assessment with its local partner in Nangarhar Province, which has the highest influx of returnees within Afghanistan. Based on the assessment findings, and in close coordination with local authorities, UN agencies, and other aid organizations, we distributed essential relief items such as cooking utensils, hygiene kits, and blankets to 1,726 newly arrived returnee households, specifically targeting those most vulnerable.

One household representative who received the items commented, “These relief items are great support for my family’s life.”
Thanks to your warm support, we were able to deliver much-needed assistance to many returnees this time. We express our heartfelt gratitude.

Although this “Afghanistan Returnees Support” initiative is now concluded, the lives of people in the affected regions remain challenging. During the support period, an earthquake also occurred in the area, and with the severe winter approaching, their situation is still very difficult.
Peace Winds will continue to collaborate with its local partner organization and relevant agencies to support people in rebuilding their lives safely and with dignity.
