[USA] Providing Aid Supplies to an Animal Shelter Housing Evacuated Pets in LA

On January 14 (local time), the emergency relief team of Peace Winds delivered pet supplies to an animal shelter operated by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles (spcaLA).

The Supplies Delivered are as follows:
Dry dog food (20kg × 2 bags)
Canned dog food (12 cans × 2 cases)
Canned cat food (40 cans × 2 boxes)
Pet blankets (7 pieces)

We selected the aid recipients by referring to the list managed by the Mutual Aid LA Network (MALAN), an information-sharing platform dedicated to mutual aid efforts across Los Angeles. To ensure that supplies match the most urgent needs, local support teams conducted needs assessments and distributed high-demand supplies accordingly.

Due to safety considerations for the rescued animals, access to the building was restricted to authorized personnel only. Therefore, our staff transported the supplies by hand to the designated collection area outside the facility.

According to local media reports, spcaLA is temporarily housing approximately 50 pets, including dogs, cats, parrots, and various other animals.

Future Support Efforts:

Moving forward, we will provide aid through our sister organization, Peace Winds America, to Humane Society International, one of the world’s largest animal welfare organizations.

Your generous support is essential in helping disaster-affected people and animals regain a sense of security as quickly as possible. We sincerely appreciate your continued kindness and contributions.
