[Ukraine] Power Outages Worry Mothers Leaving Their Children at Kindergarten
At Kindergarten No. 72 in Chernihiv, northern Ukraine, many children come from single-mother households because their fathers are either serving in the military or have lost their lives in the war.
Even though emergency alerts go off with each attack, these mothers have no choice but to work, even if they would rather stay with their children to comfort them in such distressing times.
The mother of Maria (7) shared her feelings:
Many mothers also believe that their children are safer at kindergarten than at home, where there is no underground shelter. As a result, while 150 children currently attend the kindergarten, 27 more are waiting for a spot.
A mother’s concern for her child is the same in Japan as it is in Ukraine.
To help create an environment where mothers can leave their children with peace of mind, Peace Winds is running a crowdfunding campaign.
We kindly ask for your warm support.
Peace Winds Japan is conducting a crowdfunding campaign on READYFOR to provide generators for children in Ukraine.
