[Vietnam] Delivering School supplies to elementary schools in Typhoon-Affected areas.

In September 2024, Northern Vietnam was severely affected by it’s 11th Typhoon. After dispatching an emergency relief team, Peace Winds provided support with food and hygiene supplies. Following this, they focused on distributing school supplies to children whose new school term began the month after the disaster.

In November, Ms.Yamamoto, the Director of the Overseas Operations Department, visited three schools in Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province, and delivered a total of 1,132 sets of school supplies to the children. This initiative followed the severe flooding caused by Typhoon No. 11, which hit northern Vietnam in September. The typhoon, along with heavy rains, resulted in significant flooding across about half of the province. Despite the water still being stagnant in some areas after the typhoon, the distribution of school supplies aimed to support the children as they started their new school term.

On the day of the distribution, a ceremony was held where the children gathered, and each student was given a set of school supplies, including notebooks and pens, placed inside a bag. This support was made possible not only by donations from individuals but also by contributions from several companies. We sincerely thank everyone who participated in in-store and corporate fundraising efforts.

In December, an architect conducted an assessment at the damaged schools. Currently, preparations are underway for the repair of the schools that sustained significant damage to their buildings. We kindly ask for your continued support in aiding those affected by the disaster in Vietnam.
