Philippines:Distribution of Shelter Repair Kits Started in Lyte Island
“My house was destroyed in front of me. Roofing sheets, wooden columns and beams, windows, even brock fences are all blown down by the strong strong wind!!”, Mr. Felisimo told us his experience. He is one of the beneficiaries of PWJ’s Shelter Repair Kit Distribution Project.

Damaged house by the Typhoon Haiyan
Peace Winds Japan started distribution of shelter repair kits for 690 households in Carigara Municipality, Lyte Island on18 February 2014, in collaboration with our local partners, Citizens’ Disaster Response Center (CDRC) and Leyte Center for Development (LCDE). The kit includes timbers, roofing sheets, cement bags, nails and some tools. PWJ is also planning to provide workshops for the beneficiary how to build the firm house.
